Get Ya Channel On!

Taking on a new persona makes us feel powerful, no doubt! Not saying that being you isn't enough, but its a fair statement to say that we have become creatures of immense change. Constantly evolving into who and what we want to be; which is challenged daily by peers, work, and technology.
Through our tough exteriors, lays a soft, sensitive being, that observes the actions and appearances of others and adapts it into our own. It takes a strong desire or something life changing to turn the "girl next door" to the hard-ass that has shaved half of her head and  cultivates a wardrobe full of leather and chains.
Or... it takes an 'innocent' adoration that turns into a minor obsession, and eventually, the "new you"! That has been hiding deep inside all along (or so it will be told...). Contrary to what most think, we are all comprised of not only flesh and bone, but electricity.
A field of energy is created and emanated constantly by everything that has life and can be easily transferred from person to person. We not only give off energy, but we also pull in energy from others. The down-side to this, is that we sometimes pull the wrong type; which influences us in negative ways. A large group are aware of energy, auras, spirits, ect. And participate in activities as meditation, yoga, working out to balance the stress they encounter on a daily basis.

I know you've been here: you wake up feeling great after a sober nights sleep. Spend the first 30 minutes making love to the person of your dreams, shower, and enjoy breakfast at your favorite restaurant. Everyone on the street is complimenting you on your well-put-together outfit and you're beaming. The rest of your afternoon is spent lounging around the house and simply "doing you". Now it's time to slap on your work uniform and jump in the car to head to work. You encounter a couple of assholes on the road, but it's ok, cause you been having such a good day. You park your car, and make your way inside. Greeting and smiling at all the regular customers that frequent your place of business. You clock in and begin to work. All of a sudden, you're summoned into your managers office. A person who never appears happy, regardless of the luxury car they drive, home they own, or the position that anybody who works there would want. They begin the "meeting" condemning your exuberant attitude and proceed to chop you down with all the things that need improvement. You leave the office, feeling...different. A little drained and definitely pissed off. That quickly, your energy has been zapped out of you and has been replaced with your bitter bosses disposition.

So what can you do to maintain the unique-ness that is YOU and to not be so easily influenced by others sour moods?? You can try small things like:
  • taking a hot shower: imagine the layer of anger or stress being washed away
  • realizing that your energy is YOURS and doesn't have to be shared with anyone: women sometimes run into the dilemma of 'having to be nice' or accommodating to the majority of people that invite themselves into our space. Simply being honest about not wanting to be bothered might be seen as mean, but sometimes its what you have to do.
  • value your time, money, and resources: whether it be the pushy sales person, a relative that asks to borrow money you don't feel like lending out, or the friend you're trying to help get a job. If something is making you feel uncomfortable about the situation, its your personal connection that goes beyond what we can see, that is trying to protect you... follow its lead!
  • go to your happy place: sometimes visualizing that special someone, a memory from childhood, or anything that makes you feel good can help... even if it is only in your mind.

Self preservation is important! Don't be afraid to be a little selfish and invest in your well being. It isn't impossible to find personal strength and become the person that sweats originality and is the inspiration for others. Could you imagine if you spent the same amount of time working on yourself that you do on gossip sites and research on others, who are obviously evolved individuals how powerful YOU would be??? Crazy thought huh?
